Atria Norwood, a $25 million, 68,873 SF 83-unit assisted living and memory care community, recently held its grand opening ceremony. Developed by Capitol Seniors Housing and operated by Atria Senior Living, the new, state-of-the-art senior living community offers residents luxurious amenities, dining and living options within the beautiful Borough of Norwood in northern Bergen County, New Jersey.

“Atria Norwood is designed to provide a lifestyle of choice, with industry-leading quality standards and amenity options that are customized to each resident’s needs,” said Dan King, AIA, NCARB, Principal of Meyer’s Senior Living Studio. “As you enter the community, residents are welcomed by a two-story lobby with vaulted ceilings and spacious common areas bathed in natural light. Residents and visitors feel warm and welcomed from the outside, all the way through the entire building.”

A high level of detail was put into the architecture and interior design of the community. Through a synergistic and collaborative process between both disciplines, the experience feels cohesive from exterior to interior. An attractive exposed wood-truss porto-cochere and front drop-off/patio area, not only allows for easy in/out access but welcomes residents and guests into the building with rocking chairs and colorful landscaping. Spaces on the interior were fitted with furniture and finishes that kept both functions and aesthetics in mind, creating both usable and beautiful experiences as you travel throughout the building.

Atria Norwood’s most illustrious feature is the Lobby with its impressive high ceiling and signature staircase, helping visitors feel invited and special from the moment they walk inside. The community offers numerous amenities desired by today’s senior adults and features intended to foster socialization and engagement, including a library with inviting seating, movie theater, and a fun sports lounge featuring an open-concept bistro. Dining options include a full-service restaurant, a private dining room available for special occasions, and an inviting café offering lighter fare throughout the day. Additional amenities include a creative art and activity room, salon and spa, and a wellness and fitness room. Outdoors, residents will find relaxation in several areas designed to offer opportunities for socialization, exercise and relaxation. Living options include a selection of beautifully designed, upscale and spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.
