Renovations in Senior Living Communities

When it’s time to renovate, our team knows how to get the most bang for your buck.

There are many ways to improve the spaces that residents and staff use everyday. Wear and tear is the number one reason providers need to make upgrades or changes, but there are other creative ways to make old, new. Renovation projects come in all shapes and sizes. Meyer focuses on three categories of renovations: refresh, repositioning and adaptive reuse. Each has its own challenges and opportunities to improve the resident experience. From small touch-ups to large, multi-phased renovations, Meyer’s Senior Living Studio team works with providers to bring their imaginations to reality with cost effective and efficient design solutions.

Sometimes, less is more. Simple changes like fresh paint, new carpet, energy efficient lighting and upgraded decorative finishes can drastically change the look and feel of a senior living community. We will review and establish your priorities together, with a cost-first mindset.

Check out this refresh at Arbor Terrace Herndon where simple changes like fresh paint, new carpet, energy efficient lighting and upgraded decorative finishes drastically changed the look and feel of the community. See our recent post for more on this transformation.

This type of renovation can not only improve the look and feel of your entire space, but can also lead to increases in occupancy, revenue and market value. From the onset, our team takes a comprehensive look at what’s working and what’s not working. We know how to evaluate then execute with attention to detail in each and every phase. Adaptive Reuse

Adaptive Reuse projects can be an effective strategy for optimizing the operational and commercial performance of a built asset. Certain building types can be attractive alternatives to new construction. Meyer knows how take a building and transform it into something that was not its original intent. See the recently completed The Residences at Plainview in Long Island, New York for a perfect example of how to transform an existing, outdated hotel into a welcoming and contemporary independent living community. See our recent post for more Adaptive Reuse transformations.
