Architectural Designer

Meyer is looking for an Architectural Designer with 3-5 years’ experience to join our Senior Living Architectural Group.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Senior Living experience is a significant plus.
• Registration is not required.
• CAD proficiency and strong Revit documentation skills required.
• Solid understanding of the architectural design process, from Pre-Design and Conceptual Design through Construction Administration.
• General knowledge of typical structural, MEP and life safety building systems.
• General building code knowledge is necessary; CA experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be a team player that takes direction well, works independently, and checks in as needed to ensure project quality and professional growth.
• Proactive communicator not afraid to ask questions.
• Creative thinker that can be a contributor to design thinking and project execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in conceptualization exercises, product research and design efforts with project team(s) and sector studio(s).
• Complete project tasks:
 Design (building layouts, concept sketches, 3D imagery, detailing, etc.)
 Documentation (plans, sections, elevations, schedules, etc.)
 Coordination of deliverables in conjunction with project team.
• Perform project surveys.
• Develop general knowledge and application of products, materials, and building materials used in typical sector projects.
• Research and determine building codes and incorporate into project design as appropriate.
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, engineers, and representatives.
• Attend job meetings and produce record meeting minutes, as appropriate.
• Participate in construction administration responsibilities: site observations and punchlists
• Support Meyer internal standards, business and culture initiatives and programs, as appropriate.
• Active involvement in Meyer’s culture, personal development, and the broader design community.
