Samara House
New Community
Samara House is a new addition to Stonegates Retirement Community, set on a picturesque 36-acre campus in Greenville, Delaware. As a long-standing community with a deep legacy of service and hospitality, Stonegates partnered with Meyer to envision a thoughtful path forward, one that honors what residents value while positioning the campus for long-term growth and relevance.
Through master planning and design consultation, Meyer worked closely with Stonegates leadership to assess existing assets, identify opportunities for renewal, and align future development with resident needs and market expectations.
Inspired by the samara, a winged maple seed that finds its place naturally, Samara House is designed around the belief that supported living should feel as refined and personal as any chapter of life.
Spacious residences with vaulted and tray ceilings, custom moldings, and generous floor plans set a new standard well beyond typical assisted living norms. A curated fine art collection, including bronze sculptures by André Harvey, a Spirio Steinway & Sons player piano, and custom works by Creative Director Joe Karlik, enriches shared spaces with cultural depth and sophistication.
Nature is woven throughout, from a lush green roof and terraces to serene courtyards that invite residents to unwind and connect with the landscape. Two beautifully appointed dining rooms, a vibrant activity calendar, and compassionate care close at hand complete an environment where life unfolds naturally, connections deepen, and residents feel genuinely at home.
